The Mathematical Society of South Eastern Europe (MASSEE) is established on 1st March 2003. The registered office of MASSEE is the Hellenic Mathematical Society in Athens, Greece at 34, Panepistimiou (Eleftheriou Venizelou) Street, GR. 106 79 - Athens, Greece. The main scope of the Association is to join the forces of all the communities that are involved and further collaborate for adding value to the common ground for actions in the area.
The Romanian Mathematical Society (RMS) is one of the oldest scientific societies in Romania, founded in 1910 under the name of Gazeta Matematica Society, and it is aimed at contributing to the reinforcement and improvement of mathematical education, training and research. At present there are 5,000 members, teachers in the university and pre-university education, researchers and students active in 53 subsidiaries, located in each county nationwide. RMS was the initiator of the National Mathematical Olympiad in 1950 and of the International Olympiad in 1959 and it is currently a partner in their organizing and in training of the students in the Romanian team (a total of 20.000 students participate every year in all stages, and 550 students in the national stage).
