Data si locul nasterii: 20 august 1950, Bucuresti.

Educatia: A absolvit in 1974, Facultatea de Matematica, Universitatea Bucuresti.
Teza de doctorat: Este doctor in matematici din 1986, cu teza "Propagari de unde si termodinamica pentru fluide de gradul trei", conducator stiintific Acad. Lazar Dragos.
Domenii de interes stiintific: Mecanica fluidelor, Termodinamica, Teoria cinetica a gazelor, ecuatii constitutive si miscari pentru unele clase de fluide nenewtoniene (cu sau fara transfer de caldura).
Pozitii academice: Cercetator stagiar la IMH 1974 - 1977. Cercetator stiintific la sectia de matematica, INCREST 1978 -1989. Cercetator principal III 1991. Este lector din 1991.
Cursuri predate: A tinut cursuri de: Teoria cinetica a gazelor, Termodinamica, Mecanica fluidelor, Dinamica atmosferei, Mecanica, Fluide newtoniene si nenewtoniene. A obtinut Premiul "Spiru Haret" pe 1995.

Este editor asociat al revistei "Romanian Journal of Meteorology".
Este recenzent la "Zentralblatt fuer Mathematik".
