Social Events

All registered particpants are invited to a welcome cocktail on Monday, June 29, and to a downtown walking tour either on Tuesday, June 30 or on Thursday, July 2. An excursion and a conference dinner will take place on Wednesday, July 1.

Welcome Cocktail

In the first evening of the conference, all participants are invited to a Welcome Cocktail. The event will take place at the "House of the University Staff" (Casa Universitarilor) - see location on the map - an historic building from 19th century.
The cocktail will be served on the terace in a relaxed and green environment.
The Welcome Cocktail is covered by the registration fee and thus offered to any registered participant.

Downtown Walking Tour

The Downtown Walking Tour will offer a 2 hours lenght incursion in the history and culture of Bucharest. The Tour is organised in small groups (15-20 participants) with an English speaking guide, through the Old Center and its surroundings.
The Downtown Walking Tour is covered by the registration fee and thus offered to any registered participant.
The (same) tour is offered in two different days of the conference, Tuesday and Thursday. Upon arrival, the participants will make their option for the day they prefer.

Excursion (optional)

Monumental, historical and cultural 18th century complex, Mogosoaia Palace is one of the most visited places for its valuable architectural patrimony, its picturesque natural environment, and its proximity to Bucharest.
At the end of the excursion, participants will be transported directly to the conference dinner restaurant, which is in walking distance from the conference venue (see below).
Participants should register separately for the excursion when submitting the Registration Form. See the Registration page for details.

Conference Dinner (optional)

The conference dinner will take place in a traditional Romanian restaurant - Hanu' Berarilor - hosted in a historical neo-Romanian building, from the beginning of the 20th century.
The location of the restaurant is in 10 minutes walking distance from the conference venue (see the Conference Venue page).
Participants should register separately for the conference dinner when submitting the Registration Form. See the Registration page for details.
